Entrepreneurship can be lonely. Military spouse life can be lonely. And life as a military spouse entrepreneur can feel extra lonely. But you know what makes it less so? Finding other people on the same journey, people who can help light the path and cheer you on.
After starting my own business, it felt like I discovered a whole new world—one filled with military spouse entrepreneurs, successful milspouse founders, and a host of resources designed to help them thrive.
Finding a comprehensive list of reputable programs, platforms, and communities that support military spouse business owners at every stage isn’t easy.
So I made one!
In this roundup, I’m sharing the military spouse entrepreneur resources I wish I had known about sooner. For each resource, I include a link, a quick overview of what it offers, and my personal experience using it. If it’s something I haven’t used myself but still trust and recommend, I’ll say that too.
Without further ado, here’s my short list of where I’d start if I were launching a new business today as a military spouse entrepreneur.
What it is: A selling platform and marketplace built specifically for military and first responder families. I describe it to people as Etsy for military & first responder families.
Best for: Product-based businesses, makers, and also service providers who want targeted visibility
My experience: I actively use Spouse-ly and have had real success with it. This has been a significant source of business and leads for me, and honestly, finding Spouse-ly (and being inspired by so many other entrepreneurs living the military life) is what catalyzed my entry into entrepreneurship.
The vendor community is very active and offers the opportunity to connect with other military spouse entrepreneurs in meaningful ways. I also love that they go out of their way to provide a platform for service providers to be listed on their site. 10/10 recommend!
What it is: A free entrepreneurial education program from the U.S. Small Business Administration. It’s designed to give participants an overview of business ownership and they have programs for both service members and military spouses.
Best for: Credible, structured introduction to the basics of entrepreneurship and business
My experience: I haven’t used Boots to Business personally, but it’s a trusted source and one I recommend because it is no-risk and easily accessible.
What it is: MySECO (part of Military OneSource) offers education and career resources for military spouses, including entrepreneurship support and coaching.
Best for: Exploring different career options, including entrepreneurship, and seeking guided support
My experience: I haven’t used it directly, but it’s another trusted resource I recommend because it’s comprehensive and free. They offer a wide variety of resources along with free career and entrepreneurship coaching.
What it is: A military spouse-focused chamber of commerce offering tools, resources, and community support for spouse-owned businesses.
Best for: Increasing credibility and connection to the milspouse community. One of the biggest benefits here is their Military Spouse-Owned Enterprise Certification. Once certified, you can display an MSCC badge notifying potential clients and customers that you are a military spouse-owned business.
My experience: I got certified early on, and the process was straightforward. It’s something I plan to continue using. I love this certification because it does two things:
What it is: A nonprofit focused on helping veterans, military spouses, and transitioning service members launch and grow businesses through training, mentorship, and advocacy.
They also publish Military Entrepreneur Magazine, which spotlights military-connected founders and helps increase visibility for businesses in this space.
Best for: Mentorship opportunities, training cohorts, and staying plugged into the broader military entrepreneurship ecosystem
My experience: I haven’t enrolled in their programs personally, but it’s a trusted leader in the military entrepreneurship space. Their Military Entrepreneur Magazine publication also offers opportunities for visibility.
What it is: A quarterly publication and online community focused on women building businesses while also balancing life as a military spouse.
Best for: Networking, visibility, paid features, and community with other female milspouse entrepreneurs
My experience: This just launched as of Jan 2026! I joined the Insider Circle for a nominal monthly fee and I’m looking forward to what it brings in the coming year.
There are opportunities to network, advertise, or be featured, and from what I’m seeing, there’s already a lot of excitement building around this community as of this writing.
What it is: A Facebook group for active duty service members and spouses striving to build strong, portable businesses that PCS with them.
Best for: Networking, visibility, insights, and support.
My experience: This group is such a great source of support and inspiration! EoE It is relatively new (launched in 2025) but I know they have plans to expand the resources they offer. It;s a great way to connect with others facing similar challenges and crowd-source insights from more seasoned entrepreneurs.
What it is: An advocacy group and resource for milspouse entrepreneurs.
Best for: Networking, visibility, opportunities, webinars.
My experience: The “freemium” membership is open to any military spouse currently running—or considering starting—a business. From an active discussion board, online business listing, advertising opportunities, and learning webinars, it’s a great place to start and connect with other milspouse entrepreneurs around the globe.
That’s my shortlist of military spouse entrepreneur resources. I’d love to know what you think, if any of these were helpful for you, or if there’s something you swear by that I missed and should add.
One thing I’ve learned pretty quickly is that there is SOOOOOO much community surrounding military spouse entrepreneurship. Like… a lot. There are also a lot of parallel organizations and groups marching toward a similar goal, which, in my opinion, is a very good problem to have.
Because the biggest part of this journey is finding community, and community looks different for everyone.
My advice is to check out as many military spouse entrepreneur resources as you can, join anything that is free, and take the time to find connections with other people in similar situations, locations, or industries as you. I have found so much inspiration and encouragement just by watching other milspouses succeed as business owners and risk takers.
Send me an email and tell me what I should check out next!
